It would be dishonest to say that we can do any project, no matter what, but you'd be surprised at the range of what we can do. If your project looks even a little like what you see on this web site, then we can probably do it, and do it well.

We are in the business of custom engineering. Every job we do is new and different. A big part of our expertise is handling all facets of new and different projects, including technical expertise, excellent workmanship and experienced project management.

Please keep in mind that our web site shows only a small sampling of our work. Our range of experience and expertise is quite broad, spanning most engineering disciplines. And we have a large network of consultants we work with regularly when we need a special skill.

Can Alliance Labs start my project even if I don't have a specification?

After we have discussed what you want, we can write the specification as a quick consulting task. If we can estimate how much work is involved, we can give you a fixed price quote for writing the specification. When you have approved the specification, then we can quote a fixed price to design and build per the specification.

Will Alliance Labs tie payment to specific milestones and deliverables? In other words, how do I know I am getting what I pay for?

We want you to be confident in our ability to deliver what we promise. Therefore, we recommend a payment schedule where each payment is tied to a well-defined and measurable milestone or deliverable such as:

Writing and delivering the system specification
Presenting the system design at a design review with the client
Installing and demonstrating a system at the client's facility
Completing a gage R&R study after installation of the system

How Does Alliance Labs Start a New Project?

If you have a thorough specification....

We provide a fixed price quote to meet all requirements as a turnkey project.

If you don't have a specification....

We will review your design, discuss your requirements and then write a specification for a fixed price. Once you approve the specification, we will provide a fixed price quote to meet all requirements. Or we can work on a time-and-materials basis until a specification can be completed.

Does Alliance Labs Submit Fixed-price Quotes?

If your requirements are well-defined in a specifications document, we are happy to submit a fixed-price quotation. We can also help write the specification as a quick consulting task. When you have approved the specification, then we can quote a fixed price to complete the project.

Does Alliance Labs Work on Time and Materials Projects?

If your project is not well defined, we can also work on a time-and-materials basis. You pay only for the productive hours worked and for the parts required. We do not mark up the cost of materials. Time-and-materials gives you flexibility to change the requirements as the project progresses.
